Testimonials

Thank you so much Andy, never give up helping people with your support and this website. You have helped me get my life back right where it should be when all I wanted to do before was die, and I know you will do the same for others too.

It all went really well - not in such a terminal state as I thought! I have booked in for 4 weekly appointments starting next Monday and cannot wait to get started!
Once again, a really big "thank you" to you and your fantastic website for enabling me to get to this position All my best regards,

"Andy took me from the stage that I was no way going to go anywhere near a dentist, slowly and carefully at my pace through ringing a dentist, then walking into a surgery and talking to a nurse then sitting in a chair etc etc."
"I was very surprised at how you managed to turn my way of thinking in such a short space of time as I never thought for one moment I could lessen the embarrassment factor. It has also helped me to realise that I am the one to control the situation, rather than the dentist"

After several attempts, I forced myself to read an article about Dental Phobia in Woman’s Own (23rd May 2005). It was quite reassuring to know that I was not the only one with this problem that affected me so badly that I couldn’t even stay in the same room as anyone who was discussing teeth or dentists.

My phobia began after a very traumatic session with a “butcher” of a dentist in 1959, when I was eighteen. I spent almost an hour in his chair with my mouth wedged open, while he poked, prodded, pulled and drilled before admitting defeat. As a result I developed Septicaemia.

From then until 1971 I could not face a dentist. In 1971 I developed an abscess and visited my G.P. I was then sent to hospital to have several teeth extracted under a general anaesthetic. For eleven years afterwards splinters of bone and tooth enamel gradually worked their way to the surface of my gums. I also developed thrombo-phlebitis as a direct reaction to the anaesthetic drug.

Now my teeth are in a very bad way with most of them cracked, broken or completely hollow. Despite this I brush them conscientiously twice a day!

I am was embarrassed when talking to people and never smile because I’m so ashamed, so people think I am a very sour, unsociable sixty-four year old.  However, despite all this I knew I could never visit another dentist unless I was unconscious.

Alongside the article in the magazine there was the opportunity to win free coaching with Dental Phobia Coach and Mentor Andy Solecki so I decided to write to the magazine and enter the competition. I thought that if Andy could help me it would be a miracle but one that would change my life entirely.

I soon discovered that Andy Solecki is the most amazing man, completely committed to his cause and passionately convinced that he can cure you if you wish to be freed from the fear. He is kind, caring, gentle, generous, patient, supportive, sympathetic, calm, encouraging, very perceptive and intuitive and full of praise for each tiny step of progress you make. Despite all these virtues he remains very modest!

His therapy was carried out on a weekly basis over the telephone. At first I found it difficult to believe that he could rid me of such a deep-seated and long-standing Phobia, but within a very few sessions I knew that I would eventually succeed.

After a few months I was able to go and talk to a dentist in the Waiting Room. A few weeks later I actually entered the Surgery. The next week I sat in the chair for a brief examination. The next step was an X-ray, followed by a discussion of treatment, which was planned to be done under intra-venous sedation.

Now, just seven months after first speaking to Andy I have actually started a course of treatment ………. WITHOUT SEDATION!

Andy is an absolute “Miracle Man”. If he can cure me of my Dental Phobia, he can cure anyone and I know his dearest wish is to help as many people as he possibly can, because he knows he has been given a special talent which can completely change people’s lives.

I would like to think that spreading the news of my incredible experience might help Andy to rid many Dental Phobics of their life-limiting fears.

Andy has helped in giving me the confidence to face my own fears and doubts that I have about myself. One problem of mine is that I always expect the worst to happen when I am facing something any new challenge. Andy gave me the confidence to do what I have always wanted to do, and to confront any self-doubts I had about myself. I now feel I have the "tools" needed to tackle any new challenges. Thanks Andy!

“The pages I have printed from the 'Beyond Fear' website have now become my 'bible' and I read them regularly, particularly before a dental appointment, they really inspire me to carry on with my treatment.”

“Some months ago, I found beyondfear.org. Reading the Self-help Information and success stories, I realized that the "facts" I had taken for granted, were only a product of my fears”

“It was then I remembered a website I had come across months earlier. I took another look at it. I watched the discussion pages, read stories of others that could have been written by me. Wow then I wasn't the only one........”

“Using the resources on this site, I discovered that what I really needed was a dentist who could convincingly promise me painless treatment, who wouldn’t make any negative remarks about the state of my teeth, and who would offer me to take things AT MY PACE and never do anything that I might be frightened of. I would have to know that the dentist would stop at the slightest hint of discomfort if I so wished and let me be in charge at all times. I would need to be able to trust my dentist 100%.”
